Accessibility
Spectrum New Beginnings works to make holistic well-being more accessible. That includes this website.
Our goal
We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines describe how to make web content usable for people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, are Deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, speech, or cognitive disabilities.
How this site is built
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and a visible outline shows where you are on the page.
- Photos of our team, practitioners, and programs have text descriptions for screen readers.
- Form fields have visible labels that stay on screen while you type.
- Headings are used in order, so screen reader users can move through each page by section.
- Text and buttons are checked for color contrast.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off animation.
- Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on phone screens.
We do not use an accessibility overlay or toolbar plugin. Accessibility is built into the pages themselves.
Content from other services
Some parts of this site come from other organizations, and we can’t fully control how accessible they are:
- Donations are processed on The Dayton Foundation’s website.
- Our events calendar is provided by Google Calendar.
- Videos are hosted on YouTube.
If any of these give you trouble, contact us and we’ll help you another way — for example, by sharing event details or taking your donation information by phone.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please let us know. Tell us the page and what happened, and we’ll work with you to fix it or get you the information another way.
